Les Paimpolais reçus à Gravelines

Une délégation paimpolaise composée des organisateurs, du Maire nouvellement élu et de deux conseillers municipaux, s'est rendue jeudi 15 mai à Gravelines. Au programme : déjeuner de travail, réunion de préparation de la course et visite des installations gravelinoises.

Rappelons que la commune du Nord Pas de Calais constituera l'une des étapes de la course : elle accueillera les équipages au retour de Rejkyavik afin de faire route vers Paimpol pour l'ultime étape. Les festivités et animations sont en cours de programmation !

The 4th edition will start on June 27, 2009.

Start and finish will be in Paimpol and the first stop will be Reykjavik in Iceland…Nevertheless, a new comer called Gravelines: in the north of France, which will be a new stage on the new route.

IslandeTarget: 40 boats, Class 40 and IRC

« We will inform everybody, in order to have many more participants in 3 years time ». This statement, given by one of the Skippers of the 2006 edition, shows how the skippers and their crews have enjoyed the race.

Following a very successful 2006 edition and a favourable 2009 calendar, the organizers are planning on 40 competitors.
